Old Eurythmics Song Vs PC Culture

I am pretty sure (kinda guessing but pretty sure) that this song was the anthem for a whole generation of drag queens. And I’m also not sure the term “drag queen” is PC, but who cares? Not me. Click here to view the embedded video. Seen from the perspective of 21st Century “Completely Bat-Guano Crazy Social Justice Culture,” this song is, um… problematic.  First of all, the song is a celebration of what the left calls “Toxic Masculinity.” Note, the left does not mean to differentiate between toxic masculinity and good masculinity; to the left, masculinity in all of its forms is toxic and men must be indoctrinated to feel shame for their manhood. There’s also an awful lot ...

I never got the chance to come out (#NationalComingOutDay)

Even though I have shared every aspect of my gay life in so many fora, it occurs to me that I have never really told my coming out story. So here goes. Home for Thanksgiving during my third year of college, I did a load of laundry before I was set to return to campus. It wasn't until my clothes were already wet in the washer that my parents informed me our dryer had been acting up and would never get my clothes in a suitable condition in the hours I had left before it was time to leave. Their advice was for me to head down to the local laundromat and dry my clothes there, which is precisely what I did. When I completed the ...

Off the Grid

Posting will be limited as a family member is in the hospital; a rural hospital with lousy wiffie. I have been thinking about the deepening social, political, racial, and class divisions in the country and how Hilary Rodham Clinton is absolutely incapable of dealing with them. For one thing, the Democratic Party finds too much political advantage in exacerbating divisions; and it’s run by a class of people who actually get off on taunting the opposition through their policies. For another, Hillary is a bitter, vengeful creature who is by her own nature incapable of conciliation with opponents. On top of which, she’s already damaged goods, and will assume the presidency already distrusted and despised by a majority of the population. Paradoxically, the one sure ...

GLAAD calls for increased and accurate media coverage of transgender murders

Photo credit: GLAAD           (UPDATED: OCTOBER 6, 2016) Last year was the deadliest year on record for transgender Americans, with 21 transgender women killed in the United States, nearly all of them transgender women of color. However, 2016 has now overtaken 2015 as the deadliest year on record for transgender people in the United States.  In the first nine months of this year, the deaths of 22 transgender people have been reported. That's a rate of more than two transgender people killed every month. This number does not include transgender people whose deaths were not reported due to misgendering in police reports, news stories, and sometimes by the victim's family. The most recent victims: Erykah Tijerina, a 36-year-old Latina transgender woman who was found dead in her home in El Paso, Texas...

Obama’s Bottomless Pettiness

George W. Bush proposed building a base on the moon. Obama cancelled it … to deny Bush a legacy achievement Chiao suggested the decision to remove the Moon as a possible destination was driven by politics, rather than what might be best for the US space enterprise. “Frankly, it came down to us on the committee to not talk too much about the Moon, because there was no way this administration was going to go there, because it was W’s program,” he said. “Ok, that’s a pretty stupid reason not to go to the Moon. I’m hopeful with this election cycle that maybe the moon will be a possibility again.” This is why we can’t have nice things… like moonbases.

Verdict reached 4 years after deadly attack on TX lesbian teen couple

GLAAD Four years after surviving an execution-style shooting and sexual assault, Kristene Chapa, whose girlfriend Mollie Olgin died at the scene, has received a verdict in the trial of her alleged attacker, David Strickland. On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, a jury found Strickland guilty of capital murder and aggravated sexual assault. Since prosecutors did not pursue the death penalty, he was given an automatic life sentence. In an interview with KRIS-TV, Chapa shared her reaction to the verdict: "I was very shocked at first. I didn't know what to expect exactly. I was hoping that they (the jury) would see all the evidence that we had and they would go our way. (It was) very emotional...I wanted to just burst out into tears." David Malcolm...

Milo Triggers the Left Again

Seriously, Milo’s mere existence triggers the left. Alt right provocateur and Breitbart tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos angered the furry community yesterday by posting a drawing to Facebook that someone made of Milo as a snow leopard. So, this led to furries tweeting… well, based on the examples shown, the tweets from furries were a lot less nasty than the typical SJW response to Milo expressing his opinion. IOW, I didn’t see any explicit death threats. I figure ‘Furry Rights’ will be the next trendy thing after middle-aged white women get bored with trannies. That or paedophiles. Update and Bump: Old white leftist hag throws tantrum at Milo appearance, gets told to GTFO (H/T Peter H.) The left really can’t handle ...

Labor Day: LGBTQ and Workers’ Rights

Photo Credit: CBS Films While many are celebrating a day off from work, grilling burgers (or vegan alternatives) and, perhaps, taking advantage of all the Labor Day sales, it might be lost on most the relevance and history of how the path towards LGBTQ acceptance is an inextricable part of the larger civil rights movement. The fact is that in a majority of states where workers can be legally fired because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, union contracts are often the only line of defense for LGBTQ workers. In order to keep our challenges, struggle and victories alive, documentarians and major film and television producers have chronicled these stories so history will not repeat itself. The GLAAD Award-winning documentary Brother Outsider and film...
