Five Nurses Were Disciplined For Sneaking a Peek at a Dying Man’s Penis

Five Nurses Were Disciplined For Sneaking a Peek at a Dying Man’s Penis The Denver Health Medical Center in Colorado suspended five nurses for three weeks each after the nurses all sneaked a peek at an incapacitated man’s genitals, continuing to look even after he died. There’s no word on what made the man’s genitals so alluring. Although the nurses in questions weren’t fired, the hospital released the following statement: Their actions, which violated our policies and our Code of Conduct, were promptly reported to appropriate governmental authorities, including the Denver Police Department and the Colorado State Board of Nursing. An internal Denver Health investigation resulted in disciplinary action against all those responsible for the incident and the patient’s next of kin was ...

A Gay Man Was Beaten and Threatened with Rape by His Own Family

A Gay Man Was Beaten and Threatened with Rape by His Own Family This story out of India is yet another sickening tale of homophobia from within one’s own family. A gay man was beaten and threatened with “corrective rape” after his family found out he is gay. Corrective rape is a horrific hate crime used to try and make someone straight. How disgusting is that? RT reports: According to the India Times, the young man known as ‘Sanjoy’ was subjected to a string of physical and emotional abuse from his family in the city of Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, in West Bengal. After his parents found out that Sanjoy, in his early 20s, is gay and living with his partner, they hired local ...

‘I Think Trump Is Very Good on Gay Rights’ and 4 Other Crazy Things Peter Thiel Just Said

‘I Think Trump Is Very Good on Gay Rights’ and 4 Other Crazy Things Peter Thiel Just Said Today, The New York Times ran an unchallenging interview with Peter Thiel—the gay billionaire and PayPal co-founder who supported Trump while bankrupting Gawker. The interview made sure to mention that Thiel was “wearing a gray Zegna suit and sipping white wine in a red leather booth … over a four-hour dinner of duck and chocolate dessert”—barf. When we say that it was “unchallenging,” that isn’t merely shade. Take this bullshit exchange: When I ask him if he can explain to Mr. Trump that climate change is not a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese, he offers a Chinese box of an answer: “Does ...

4 Reasons the U.S. Government is Dropping AIDS.gov

4 Reasons the U.S. Government is Dropping AIDS.gov In Spring 2017, AIDS.gov, the federal government’s HIV and AIDS information site, will change its URL to HIV.gov. And though the change may seem minor, it reflects a progressive shift away from 20th century attitudes about HIV, attitudes which also prevent healthcare providers from ending the epidemic. Using AIDS and HIV interchangeably is inaccurate … The ’80s and ’90s press helped popularize the term GRID (Gay-Related Immune Deficiency) and then AIDS (Auto Immune Deficiency Syndrome) before scientists discovered the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), the virus that causes AIDS. “When the virus was discovered. HIV became a more precise way to refer to a virus as opposed to an arbitrary syndrome,” wrote...

Cadillac Wanted a Feel Good TV Ad Starring White Supremacists

Cadillac Wanted a Feel Good TV Ad Starring White Supremacists The election of Donald Trump has increased the prominence of the so-called “alt-right” (a euphemism for white supremacists and neo-Nazis), so much so that Cadillac recently issued a casting call for “any and all real alt-right thinkers/believers” for a “beautiful artistic” ad about “standing together as a union.” A feel good commercial with racists? Nice. Super horrified that @Cadillac is planning on including neo-nazis in a “feel good” campaign featuring “all walks of life.” Unacceptable. pic.twitter.com/e32Vb10RxA — gina young (@ohginayoung) December 10, 2016 It makes sense why Cadillac would want some of that sweet Nazi gold: There’s lots to go ...

Democracy Vs. Austerity, Or, What’s The Deal With Greece?

Democracy Vs. Austerity, Or, What’s The Deal With Greece? Like this Article Like Unicorn BootyWhile I’m writing this, stock markets worldwide are wobbling in response to the imposition of capital controls in Greece and in anticipation of the coming Greek referendum on austerity. If Greece votes no, they will almost certainly be kicked out of the eurozone. Those sentences up there — at least from my safe position on the west coast of the United States — simultaneously feel like an account of a major world-historical event and just deadly, deadly dull. It’s easy to see how something like the marriage equality debate is a conflict between freedom and love on the one side and control and hate on the other. In this debate, though, ...

North Carolina Anti-Gay Marriage Recusal Bill Heads to Governor’s Desk

A bill allowing public officials to opt out of marrying same-sex couples for "sincerely held religious" objections has cleared the state House and now heads to Governor Pat McCrory's desk. McCrory, who expressed concerns about the proposal back in March saying "What is the problem they're trying to solve?" has yet to indicate whether he'll veto the bill, sign it, or let it become law without his signature. The News & Observer reports: If McCrory breaks out the veto stamp, Thursday’s House vote tally indicates that a three-fifths majority to override a veto might prove challenging for the Republican leadership. About 61 percent of the legislators voting Thursday supported the bill, but 10 House members were absent or didn’t vote. McCrory made his position on Senate ...

The neon sailor not only advertises that fact, but gyrates his bulge and sends out morse code reading “This Way If You Are Gay”. If you want to see him for yourself, you’...

American Family Association’s Sandy Rios Says Amtrak Engineer’s Homosexuality Was ‘A Factor’ In Crash: AUDIO

(LinkedIn) If you've been keeping up with the news on Tuesday's deadly Amtrak crash, you may have noticed some outlets identifying the engineer driving the train, 32-year-old Queens resident Brandon Bostian, as a gay rights activist who previously lived in San Francisco.   Bostian, who was reportedly active in the fight against Proposition 8 back in 2008, gave an interview with The Midtown Gazette in 2012 saying in part: "It’s kind of insulting to have to beg people for my right to marry...I feel like we shouldn't even have to have this fight." Bostian's advocacy/orientation seems a side note in this developing story at best, but insane right-wing outlet and anti-LGBT haters like AFA governmental affairs director Sandy Rios have already begun drumming this up ...

Guam gay marriage debate

The U.S. territory of Guam finds itself in limbo when it comes to whether or not gay marriages will be performed or not.  The attorney general directed officials on Wednesday to begin immediately processing marriage application submitted by same-sex couples, but the director of the Department of Public Health and Social Services says it won’t happen “until further notice.” On Monday a lesbian couple was denied a marriage application, so they sued over the territory’s marriage law.  The U.S. District Court of Guam falls under the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which has ruled in favor of gay marriage.   Attorney General Elizabeth Barrett-Anderson issued a directive based on the 9th Circuit’s decision in October that lifted state...
